Gyeongbokgung Palace Built in 1394 as the main palace of the Joseon Dynasty(1392-1910) by its founder King Taejo, it is the most comprehensive and grandest of the five palaces of the Joseon Dynasty.

Seoul Tower Opened to the public on October 15, 1980, Seoul Tower has been designated as a major tourist attraction where the beautiful panoramic view of Seoul can been seen. The 236.7 meter high Seoul Tower built on the 243m Mt. Namsan has been known as the best tower in Asia.

Changdeokgung Palace and Huwon
Used as main palace by many Joseon kings and has been the best preserved among the five royal Joseon palaces. It is best known for its beautiful garden for the royal family, Huwon or Biwon(Secret Garden)with its superb landscape with pavilions, ponds, and wooded areas.

Insadong
located in the middle of the city, is an important place where old but precious and traditional goods are on display. There is one main road in Insa-dong with alleys on each side. Within these alleys are galleries, traditional restaurants, traditional teahouses, and cafes.

Itaewon
From the Itaewon Intersection, this special tourism zone stretches all the way past the Hamilton Hotel to Hannam-dong. It is honeycombed with about 2,000 shops as well as jazz bars, nightclubs, and ethnic restaurants.

Panmunjeom is located in the Joint Security Area, which is in the demilitarized zone, 50 km north from Seoul and 10 km east from the city of Gaeseong. This place is most well-known for the peace talks that were held here on October 25, 1951 and was designated as the Joint Security Area on July 27, 1953 when the armistice agreement was signed.

Once used as a management office, Panmunjeom has been used as now a conference room since the Red Cross held an international conference here on September 20, 1971. It is the only place where North Koreans and South Koreans can come in contact on a daily basis and make efforts towards the peace of Korea.

Also called as Mt. Seolsan and Mt. Seolbongsan, the mountains were named Seorak because the snow would not melt for a long period of time and its rocks stay white like snow. In November 1965, the Seorak Mountains district was designated as a Natural Monument preservation area.

Afterwards in December 1973, it was designated as park preservation area, and in August 1982, as a Biosphere Preservation District by UNESCO.

The park is spread about in 4 cities and counties, in Sokcho, Inje, Goseong and Yangyang. Featuring the highest peak Daecheongbong, the east side is called OeSeorak and the west is called NaeSeorak, which is divided again into North NaeSeorak and South NaeSeorak. North NaeSeorak is composed of Bukcheon stream, which flows to Ingyecheon stream and Baekdamcheon stream. There are numerous valleys in NaeSeorak.
