To
encourage young researchers to attend the conference,
four 1,000 US dollar of Young Researcher Awards
will be given to the best paper presented at the conference.

eligibility for this competition.
Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to this competition. Failure to comply with any of the following rules, will automatically lead to disqualification from the competition.
There are four Awards
of 1000 US Dollar.
Each Award is given
in the four topics;

and City
¡¡¡¡2. Renewable
Energies
¡¡¡¡3. CO©üReduction
and Low Carbon Technologies
¡¡¡¡4. Management,
Economic, Impact and Appropriate Energy Technologies
The
Award is given to the first named author of the paper.
The first named author has to apply to be considered
for the awards using an application form, which can be
downloaded below. The application form has to be fully
completed by the applicant. The application form has
to be submitted within the abstract submission deadline
as communicated by the Conference Secretariat.
The first named author has to be the corresponding author for the paper. Changes in corresponding author between the abstract stage and the full paper stage are allowed. The first named author also has to be the presenting author for the paper. The first named author has to register for the conference and pay the applicable author registration fee before the author registration deadline.
The
first named author has to be 40 years of age or younger
on 1 September 2008. Each author can only submit
one paper for the competitions. A second paper may
be submitted for the conferences, but only one paper
can be considered for the competitions.
If the program
chair decides to move the paper from Topic A to another
Topic, the competition entry will be changed accordingly.
All entered written papers will be judged first and
a shortlist will be produced. The presentations of
the shortlisted paper may be attended by selected
members of the jury and a final decision may be made
based upon the clarity of the presentation and the
answers of the presenter to any questions from the
audience including jury members.
The jury consists of
the Program Chair and selected members of the International
Scientific Committee. The decision of the Program Chair
is final. The prizes will be awarded at a ceremony taking
place at the close of the conferences. The winning authors
have to be present at the ceremony in order to claim
their prize.
If a winning author is resident in the Korea, the prize will by paid by Korean cheque. Otherwise the prize will be paid by international bank transfer. A certificate will be presented to each winner.
